In this course and possible forth coming courses,
we will mainly talk about
- Quantum Statistical Ensembles
- Superfluidity
- Landau Fermi Liquid Theory
- Kubo Theory
- Green Functions at zero temperature and
finite temperature and their application
in electron-electron, electron-phonon and electron-impurity
systems
- Nonequilibrium Green Function (sometimes also called closed path Green Functions or Keldysh Green Functions)
and its application in transport/kinetic theory
- Path Integral Theory and Its Applications
- Renormalization Group Theory
- and more
Do be prepared to have a lot of free time if you take this course
as there will be heavy
readings and derivations as assignments of this course.
Unlike my other courses such as
Solid State Theory, there are many discussion sessions
of this course. Therefore, I only take registered students in my class.
